On Tuesday we took two maths teams to compete in the Littlegarth Maths Challenge. It was a fierce field comprising 16 other local prep schools, which was nearly double the number of entrants since it was last run in 2019.
Our Year 5 team comprised Hannah, Huck, Oscar A and Oscar B and our Year 6 team of Benedict, Charlie, Cyrus and Jesse. Both teams competed in eight gruelling and challenging maths activities. There was everything to play for with a final round worth an extra 50 points up for grabs for the team that could also crack the millionaire’s meltdown special conundrum. It was very tense as the results were announced and we are thrilled that both teams did very well in their respective year group categories with our Year 6 team coming first in the region with a total score of 457, pushing Woodbridge prep and Littlegarth school into second and third place respectively.
Congratulations to both teams, we are very impressed with your maths skills and team work and delighted you managed to bring the shield home to Holmwood House!
