Outdoor Learning – Melting Ice
This week Year 2 took advantage of the snowy weather to do an investigation into how to make ice melt faster. They had some interesting results and found that salt or warm water were the best ways. Very useful to know at the moment!
Science – Building Paper Bridges
To continue our theme of Towers, Turrets and Tunnels, Year 2 were given the challenge of constructing a bridge made only of paper that would hold a toy car without bending! Not only did they have some brilliant ideas but they had great fun too!
Maths – Measuring Mass and Volume
Year 2 have had a very practical week in Maths. They have been exploring the mass of everyday objects in grams and kilograms and measuring the capacity of containers with millilitres and litres! Aprons and waterproofs were advised!
