In the development of their project ‘Portraying Relationships’, Year 5 created a glazed pottery representation of their chosen character. These fabulous ceramic character faces have helped enhance the students’ confidence in their manual dexterity and knowledge of how to work successfully with ceramics.
Having studied the relationship between ‘Mr and Mrs Clarke and Percy’ at the beginning of term, the picture of two characters in a space incorporated the skills of tracing, to allow personal choice of character placement, permanent pen outlining and watercolour painting.
This all involved consideration of the setting and the story telling.
