This half term in French, Year 2 have been learning about buildings, places and where people live as part of their wider curriculum theme of “Towers, Tunnels and Turrets”
We discussed the Eurotunnel that links both our countries, the many beautiful Châteaux in France and of course, the most famous tower of all…
Year 2 had to find out facts about La Tour Eiffel – did you know that it stands almost 324m tall, that it is made of iron, that it was designed by Gustave Eiffel and that 20,000 bulbs light it up at night!
We thought it would be fun to put our French engineering skills to the test and construct our own Tours Eiffel out of spaghetti, marshmallows and tin foil!
Bravo Year 2 – your Tours Eiffel are truly terrific!
