Independent Prep School of the Year Award
The Independent Prep School of the Year Award celebrates schools nationally that have demonstrated outstanding dedication to delivering an exceptional educational experience to their pupils. Holmwood House has earned this recognition for its work on its curriculum, coupled with boundless opportunities outside the classroom. The school believes that academic learning which blends excitement and challenge is integral to developing motivated, confident and engaged children who have a growing curiosity and understanding of the world around them.
Holmwood’s Head, Edward Bond said “We are thrilled to be shortlisted for the Independent Prep School of the Year Award, the nomination is the result of the curriculum developments at the school over the last few years which have been a joy to witness. Generating rigorous, memorable, fun learning is important – as is creating meaningful opportunities outside the classroom for pupil’s to continue their personal development . Our curriculum is designed to ignite a passion for learning, empower critical thinking, and equip our pupils with the skills they need to thrive in a rapidly changing world. I am delighted that the “buzz” of Holmwood has been recognised.”
The award comes on the back of a very successful year for the school which in March received the highest possible rating of ‘Excellent’ in every category for the academic achievement and personal development of its pupils, in an inspection by Independent Schools Inspectorate. This makes it a very exciting time for the school to be expanding its provision up to the age of 16 in September, when they will be welcoming the first cohort of Year 9 pupils who will be staying on at the school to sit their GCSEs.
Gregg Davies, Education Director at Bellevue says: “I am absolutely delighted with this nomination, it is well deserved and reflects the school’s strong commitment to individual academic success achieved through a challenging and immersive curriculum, which is complemented by extensive opportunities outside the classroom. The school’s expansion, from September, to the age of 16 comes at a very exciting time and is an initiative which I am convinced will make Holmwood House the best independent school in the area”Categories: News Category 1
