The changing seasons have ignited lots of activities for us at Nursery this week. We’ve loved playing in the falling leaves and splashing in muddy puddles in the garden. We’ve also done some art and crafts based around autumn using leaves to make crowns and hedgehogs!
Babies
We have loved the garden time in babies through this change of seasons and weathers. We have enjoyed puddle splashing, looking at leaves falling and looking at spider webs. The babies have also thoroughly enjoyed the musical instruments as we sing a long to nursery rhymes. We often have sensory toys for the children to explore, but this week they loved the new light that we brought into the room.
Bluebells
Bluebells have been looking at different shapes with art and making abstract designs. Out in the garden we used the rainwater that had collected to investigate floating and sinking. Our sweetcorn was very slow growing this year, we managed to pick one small corn on the cob!
Poppies
This week in Poppies we talked about Autumn and how nature changes with the season. We used fallen dry leaves to make the spikes of a hedgehog. We also made leaf crowns and practised our counting skills with buttons. When it rained we put on our wet suits on and jumped in muddy puddles.
