Nursery News

Posted: 7th July 2022

It has been a very creative couple of weeks at Nursery.  The Babies have completed their 30 Days Wild Challenge and taken part in some fun activities exploring the natural world.  Bluebells have loved creating towers with a variety of construction materials and measuring them, seeing differences in heights, whilst in Poppies the children have also enjoyed creating different baked foods using playdough  and creating amazing patterns with the peg boards.

Babies

Some of our children have been doing their visits to the Bluebell room and have been doing exceptionally well and have enjoyed getting to know their new special people. Last week we completed our 30 Day Wild Challenge with various activities such as sticking and colouring. This week we have been enjoying a week based around sports and have been trying out the egg and spoon race, hula hooping, running races and balancing. We also celebrated Independence day by making the American flag with glitter.

Bluebells

Over the last couple of weeks, Bluebells have been welcoming some new friends that will be joining us in the new term. We’re all very excited for visits happening in all the rooms and all the children are doing really well. We have been doing a variety of activities around sports week including bike races, throwing bean bags into the hoops, obstacle courses and lots more! Bluebells have been enjoying seeing what we have grown in our vegetable patch and we have been lucky enough to try our peas that have been ready for picking. We have all loved experimenting with our cooking skills too and have made lots of yummy things to take home, that we hope you’ve all enjoyed. Bluebells have loved creating towers with a variety of construction materials and measuring them seeing differences in heights. We hope you’ve all had a lovely couple of weeks and enjoy your summer break!

Poppies

The children have been having lots of fun in poppies, they have enjoyed using their imaginations in the role play area, including looking after the babies, playing vets and cooking lots of delicious food. They have also enjoyed creating different baked foods using playdough  and creating amazing patterns with the peg boards. We have also been looking at different sports this week and the children have enjoyed telling us what their favourite sport is.
