Year 6 were challenged to use all the skills they have learnt this year to design and create their own night light. They have been using all the machinery in the DT lab including: a fretsaw, drill, sander, plastic moulder. They had to create their own electrical circuit they then had to do some soldering to complete the circuit and connect the battery. The circuit was then placed into the base and they engraved their design on the top.
The wonder on their faces when their night light lit up was priceless and not only have they learnt some important DT skills, they have had to be problem solvers, using their reasoning and resilience to complete their project successfully.
