We were so delighted that the traditional Holmwood Songfest was back after a 2 year break due to Covid. There was so much excitement during the rehearsals and the competition Element edge sharpened everyone’s concentration. We were thrilled to be able to welcome so many parents into a packed Jubilee Hall for what turned out to be an extremely fun packed evening. Each element was given just an hour and a half to rehearse their previously unknown song, which were:
Air – Library – America – West Side Story
Land – Music School – Oklahoma
Water – PP Hall – The Greatest Showman
As well as the Element side of the competition, each year group had been rehearsing a song in their music lessons. There was huge excitement, as the judge, Sally Leung, Director of Colchester Military Wives Choir and retired Headmaster, rose to her feet to announce the winners of the Year Group competition were Year 7 and the winners of the Element competition were Water.
