The children at nursery have enjoyed participating in book week, to celebrate World Book Day on Thursday. The children across all three rooms have enjoyed dressing up, sharing books from home and lots of craft activities based around well known stories have also been taking place.
Babies
Babies have enjoyed some baking. Recently we made some heart biscuits for Valentine’s day. We also planted some daffodil bulbs which the children loved. They were able to look closely at them, feel the soil and water them as well. We have also used the musical instruments whilst singing nursery rhymes and have been messy with gloop. Some of the children also enjoyed a pamper session as we role played ‘the spa’.
Bluebells
Bluebells had fun discovering what happened when they mixed water with flour, we learnt lots of new vocabulary and looked at cause and effect. Whilst out in the garden we noticed footprints in the mud and looked at the different shapes and sizes. We then found our first ladybird of the season.
Poppies
The children in poppies have enjoyed our around the world theme. We have been looking at different countries and the different things you may find there. For example, we decorated camels using sand and made oat and raisin cookies. We have also enjoyed developing our hand to eye coordination by threading beads to make beautiful necklaces.
