Year 3’s class reading book is ‘Harry Potter and the Philosophers Stone’ and this week they had lots of Harry Potter themed fun learning. We went to the Spinney to explore for sticks to create their own broomsticks and without realising it used scaling maths skills and creative English skills to describe the places they would like to fly to. We then revised instructional texts and worked in groups to put together their own broomstick flying instructions using ‘bossy verbs’ and chronological order.
