From the Headmaster…

Dear Parents

At last!  Summer is here!  How wonderful to see the children on the fields this week playing against other schools as well as visiting other schools for fixtures.  And how lovely to see some of you here on site, supporting.  It is beginning to feel a little more like summer term at Holmwood. Our plans for the remainder of the term are as previously issued but should restrictions change following the government’s announcement on Monday, we aim to contact you on Tuesday, or possibly Wednesday, with any changes to these plans, but fingers crossed we are able to enjoy our summer events.

We held a webinar earlier this week focusing on aspects of future developments for children remaining at Holmwood to 13 and 16.  Mr Bond, Headmaster-elect, gave a very positive overview and we look forward to welcoming a really exciting number of prospective parents at Friday afternoon’s  Senior School Open Event for entry into Year 7 in 2022 and 2023.

Looking ahead to September, I am pleased to announce that Mrs Slater will take over from Mrs Bradbury as Learning Support Coordinator.  For those parents whose children have IEPs and receive support in their learning, Mrs Slater will be in touch in due course and will start the transfer process over the next few weeks. Other staffing decisions have previously been communicated and class allocations will take place on Move Up Day on 24 June.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend.

Alexander Mitchell
