Mars has really sparked curiosity across Phase 3, so much so it has been reeking havoc with Mr Cook’s lesson planning! The children have been incredibly resourceful designing their own space bases, so if they ever find themselves holidaying on Mars in the future they will have a very luxurious place to stay!
Here is Harshvardhan’s description of his group’s Mars base:
We were analysing Mars in our science classes for a few weeks. We chose our Mars Base to be in between the Southern Polar Ice Cap of Mars. We can breathe in our base with the help of ‘Electrolysis’ where water can be turned into Oxygen and Hydrogen. We have access to food thanks to Aquaponics, where fish make fertiliser to grow crops. We even have a rover with a claw to pick up Martian Ice, and see how it’s different to Earth’s ice. We recorded this all in a youtube video on Minecraft:Â https://www.youtube.com/watchv=an8nviWsoW0&ab_channel=PracheeInglePeshkar
