On Thursday 18 March two teams in Years 5 and 6 competed in the General Knowledge Quiz Club Semi-Finals. Quiz Club is a national inter-school competition and the heat was hosted live online by a professional Quizmaster. The show was very much like a television game show, with instant onscreen scoring making it thrilling entertainment, watched by both parents and staff!
The pupils representing Year 5 were Annabel B, Benedict C, Henry H, Jesse O, Katie B, Ruben S and Rufus W. The pupils representing Year 6 were Adam D, Benjamin B, Chido M, Francis B, Harshvardhan P, Pippa S, Sam T and Thomas C.
All teams worked fantastically well and answered some very challenging questions! Overall, Year 5 came joint 9th and joint 24th out of 28. Year 6 placed 15th and joint 19th out of 34. Well done Holmwood!
Additionally, the Science Quiz Club Championships for Years 5 and 6 are due to take place on Thursday 29 April 2021. If your child in Year 5 or 6 and would like to put their name forward for the chance to compete for Holmwood, please email lal@holmwood.house by the end of the school day on Tuesday 23 March. A selection quiz will then take place to decide the final teams.
