On the weekend of the 29-31 of January the RSPB are holding their information gathering activity across the UK in the form of the Big Garden Birdwatch. This is an excellent opportunity to spend an hour together either outside (being quiet so the birds are not scared away) or looking out of a window to record the birds you can see. Please take this chance to spend an hour connecting with nature, whilst also playing your part in collecting data about British birds.
You can sign up here.
One way to attract birds into an outdoor space near you is to make a bird feeder; the birds will not worry what they look like as long as the food is good! Please remember if you do make something then please refill it with food or take it down afterwards so no litter is left. Some simple ideas are shown above.
