¡Hola y bienvenidos a Español! I am thrilled with the enthusiasm and interest shown in Spanish by the children in the last week and a half. During our first lessons we discussed the importance of learning languages and worked on basic vocabulary, conversations, the Spanish culture and, of course, a bit of flamenco! How many times have I heard ‘Mr Cortes, why do you write a question mark upside down (¿) or what is that funny letter (ñ) Señor Cortes? Yes, Spanish is quite different to English but it’s also the 3rd most spoken language in the world. I am so pleased to have joined Madame Mookherjee in the languages department and I look forward to working with her to offer French and Spanish as part of the school’s modern foreign languages curriculum ¡Muchas gracias y hasta pronto!
