I have been out of school for three days this week training to be a Reporting Inspector (RI). This process will take about a year to complete and will give us, as a school, even greater insight into regulatory compliance, educational quality, and pupils’ achievement and personal development. As an inspector for the past 17 years, I value the experience this role brings and I am pleased that Mrs Bradbury has recently become a team inspector and completed her second inspection this week. As part of the school’s development plan, the professional development of staff is an important aspect of our overall picture. Several colleagues are involved in Bellevue training, including Coaching, Emerging Leaders, Senior Leaders, Assessment Leads and EYFS.
Thank you for your generosity towards our Harvest Festival collection on Tuesday when Rev Tony Bushell spoke to the children and led the assembly. We sent our provisions off to Colchester Emergency Night Shelter as usual, who were most grateful for the kindness shown by the Holmwood community.
Mrs De Voy enjoyed hosting the Year 4 boarders’ taster evening on Tuesday night and was excited to see so many parents and pupils involved. She has since emailed parents about the Cinema Night on Tuesday 1 October.
With matches, an Aquathlon and unseasonably energetic flying insect visitors on site this week, it has certainly been a week to remember. I do hope you follow us on Facebook and Twitter where there is a regular flow of exciting stories, pictures and videos from the week. As you will know, we are preparing to launch our year group Twitter accounts in the near future which will give some further focused insights into the high calibre learning experiences of your children.
With best wishes
