Dear Parents,
I have been in Cambridge today at the summer IAPS Heads’ meeting. Membership of IAPS is an important facet of Holmwood House giving it a wider context in which to operate. As Chairman for the past 4 years I have had the honour of leading and working with a wide range of Prep School Heads. Understanding and supporting a variety of school settings has been a rewarding opportunity. Holmwood’s involvement in a number of IAPS events throughout the year adds to the rich experience for our children.
Our Years 4, 5 and 6 pupils have been involved in teacher assessments this week. These are designed to give pupils and parents some feedback on their learning. Standardised tests form a part of his process and I shall be writing to you in due course about this important area.
As we look ahead to the rest of the term I would encourage parents to ensure key dates are in the family diaries! In particular we are looking forward to the School Fête on Saturday 15 June, the Pre-Prep Sports Day on Friday 14 June and the Prep Sports Day on Saturday 22 June.
With best wishes
Alexander Mitchell
Headmaster
