Here we are at the end of another term. The children have had some amazing adventures and experiences again and we have enjoyed celebrating their successes. The Years 4 & 5 production of Rock Bottom and the Years 6 & 7 show, Madagascar, were real highlights for us all.
It was great seeing so many of you at the Pre-Prep sharing afternoon last week. The children were clearly so very proud of their hard work and it was lovely to see their faces as you showed your appreciation.
The Pre-Prep children enjoyed their Easter Egg Hunt this afternoon. The Friends of Holmwood House ran this annual event in their inimitable style; full of enthusiasm, commitment and happy smiles! Thank you, Ladies.
I am very excited about the next set of developments for the school which I shared with you earlier this week. Many of the changes are things we have been considering for a number of years and I am thrilled to be able to action them now. Our approach to the children’s journey through the school is one which ensures it is smooth, structured and challenging. The focus is on high quality learning which leads to greater independence in our children and a real sense of ownership in a safe and secure learning environment. I am confident that our children will love the new arrangements and will soon see the benefits planned. I will be able to give further information about staffing in the latter half of the summer term once we have the timetable completed. Holmwood goes from strength to strength!
W B Yeats said, “Education is not the filling of a pail but the lighting of a fire.” We certainly saw this on the faces of our children this term.
With best wishes
