Dear Parents
Our Year 4 children had a great time at the Young Voices event at the O2 Arena on Monday. They sang with great gusto, I am told, and reports from parents point to it having been an excellent experience for all! Well done Year 4s and thank you to Mr Cortes for organising it and leading the trip along with Mr Snell, Mrs Mitchell and Miss Godman.
This week’s Swimming Gala against St Mary’s was an exciting event, too. The huge parent audience was very supportive and gave the children much encouragement to swim so well. Mrs Jeffery’s usual smooth organisation was very much in evidence and it was lovely to see the Year 8 pupils taking on the responsibility of helping to keep the races running smoothly.
We are looking forward to the two major productions later this term. The Years 4 & 5 pupils will be presenting Rock Bottom, an hilarious and entertaining take on the Stone Age shenanigans of some Flintstones-type characters! Rehearsals are well under way so please make sure you have the performance date firmly in your diaries (Friday 8 March at 7pm). The cast list has gone up today for the Years 6 & 7 production of the musical version of Madagascar! Most of us will know the animated film about Alex the Lion who escapes from New York Zoo and, along with a few other animals, finds himself marooned on the island of Madagascar. I think there promises to be some memorable scenes, songs and stage sensations! Book this in your calendar for Friday 22 March at 7pm.
With best wishes
