Pupil News – Santa Run

Imogen and Harrison ran 3k dressed as Santa to raise money for the neonatal ward at Colchester General Hospital, which saved Imogen’s life when she was born. They ran the whole way without stopping, showing great resilience. Well done, Imogen and Harrison.

Year 8 Digesting Science

Year 8 have been looking at enzymes used in digestion. Not to be content with theoretical learning, they insisted on applying their learning to a real life situation. Pancakes! They seem to have enjoyed learning about their enzymes just as much as using them in their digestion!

Year 5 Clay Portraits

Year 5 used the medium of clay to create a portrait. and this week’s challenge was to colour it with glaze. The challenge being that glaze requires 3 layers for the colour to be at its best and the colour does not show until it has been ‘fired’ in the kiln at an intense heat.

Year 4 Maths

In maths the children have been using arrays to create the 11 and 12 times tables. They also used this knowledge to investigate the factors of different numbers, creating arrays to show the factor pairs of numbers such as 24 and 16.
