Fun in the Science Lab

Hurrah – it’s fantastic to be able to actually get ‘hands on’ in the lab. Year 8 have been looking into the reactivity series this week and are really enjoying being back in the lab.

Chocolate Challenge

In Year 5 we are learning about the rainforests of the world and the history of chocolate  We then used our persuasive writing skills and are creating advertising campaigns for our own chocolate bars. We have started designing and making our new chocolate bars with a range of ingredients and even designing packaging too.

Pre-Reception News

What another busy week! We have had lots of fun with some science experiments: we have done some balloon races, the skittles experiment and our personal favourite, the exploding volcano. We have also been practising our writing and decorating some beautiful Mother’s Day cards.

Pupil Achievements

Golden Awards Golden Awards are made weekly to individuals in each class based on the Golden Rules. The child receives a Golden Award badge to wear for the week. Year 5 STEM

The children in Year 5 had been curious about how angles worked in the real world.  So they have been investigating angle types and how these are used in engineering. Bringing their maths into a real world setting.

Year 2 & 3 Art – Spring Flowers

The excitement of being back in the Art Room and evidence of spring beginning to emerge all over the school site, has really sparked some fantastic creations amongst the children this week. They have produced some spectacular spring pieces.

Year 3 Kandinsky

Year 3 looked at the artwork of Vasily Kandinsky, particularly the pieces where he expresses his emotions through abstract art. He used colour and shape to respond to feelings and music. The children listened to some music, painting what they saw, felt and heard.
