Year 1 – Town Mouse & Country Mouse

In Art, the children drew a picture of their house, and then painted it. We read Town Mouse and Country Mouse in Literacy and discussed the differences between the town and the country in Global Studies. They wrote about their house and the area in which they live for English.

Year 3 Cooking with English & Maths

Year 3 had a fantastic combined English and Maths lesson this morning. They weighed and measure ingredients, read and followed instructions and made the most delicious looking fairy cakes or victoria sandwiches. Master-chefs in the making!

Romeo, Juliet and Year 7

This term we have been studying Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare. Year 7 were challenged with researching key information and facts about William Shakespeare, along with the play itself. They then presented their findings to the class. It was absolutely delightful to watch such sophisticated and confident presentations. Well done!

Years 7 & 8 vs Aliens!

This week, Year 7 and 8 debaters took part in an engaging debate on the motion… This house believes that aliens exist. There were persuasive points on both sides but the proposition team’s arguments were voted as most persuasive by the audience. Well done to all involved.

Year 5 and Chaucer

This week, Year 5 started drawing together their learning about the Medieval Period by writing a play about a pilgrimage based on Chaucer’s The Canterbury Tales.

Year 2 Winter Poems

After last week’s surprising snowy weather, Year 2 seized the opportunity to write some winter poems, inspired by observations of the landscape at school. The children used a mixture of wintery nouns and adjectives to create their poems, which they enjoyed reading aloud to each other.
