Year 1 Science – Parachutes

Bravely battling quite windy conditions Year 1 persevered with their parachute experiment.  As part of their new topic ‘Splendid Skies’ they had to observe carefully, then use their reasoning skills to predict how they thought their parachutes would fall.  Once outside they tested their predictions and made some adaptations to their designs.

Year 8 DT

Year 8 have been given free choice in DT this term and many of them have chosen to do some resourceful upcycling.  From card table to cat scratchers they are working on some very creative projects and putting all the equipment in the DT lab to great use.

Year 8 Science

Curious about what their cells actually look like, Year 8 decided it was time to get the microscopes out. Methylene blue was used to stain cells obtained from their own cheek swabs!

St George’s Day Jousting

Year 3 have had a great time celebrating St George’s Day! They enjoyed writing about the story of St George and the Dragon and making their own knight’s helmet. They then had great fun performing a scene from the story and participating in a jousting spectacular!
