Year 5 Viking Jewellery
In Global Studies lessons this week we have been making some Viking Bling! We were learning about the importance of jewellery to the Vikings and then created our own brooches.

This week in Outdoor Learning Year 2 explored their environment using their senses of sight, hearing, touch and smell. They chose one thing for each sense that really made them think “Wow” and shared their pictures to inspire wonder in their friends!
In Global Studies and Science Year 2 were challenged to investigate whether they could make a tower with just sheets of A4 paper. No sellotape, scissors or glue allowed! The results were amazing. Some of the towers were taller than the children themselves!

Year 1 were asked to spend some time in their garden or to go on a walk and collect some interesting natural objects. They then used string to tie them onto a large stick to create a natural mobile.
Year 2’s ‘Friendship Friday‘ continues to be a fun filled day where the children get to reconnect in small friendship groups with each other ‘virtually’ but face to face. We meet on screen, share our favourite jokes, photos that remind us of happy times, work we are proud of and play fun numbers and sound games….
Year 2 had their first fortnightly social last weekend. They made and decorated some lovely lemon cupcakes. Thank you to Mrs Coker for organising.
In art this week the Year 3 looked at the work of Andy Warhol, they took a virtual tour of the Tate Gallery before looking specifically at prints by Andy Warhol, specifically the very famous ones of Marilyn Monroe. The children created portraits of themselves in the style of Warhol’s Marilyn.
Year 3 were joined by their pets and favourite cuddly toys in Story Time this week. The pets and toys all seemed to enjoy it as much as the children. They also enjoyed another Fun Friday and shared some laughter and jokes.
