Pre-Reception News

What another busy week! We have had lots of fun with some science experiments: we have done some balloon races, the skittles experiment and our personal favourite, the exploding volcano. We have also been practising our writing and decorating some beautiful Mother’s Day cards.

Pupil Achievements

Golden Awards Golden Awards are made weekly to individuals in each class based on the Golden Rules. The child receives a Golden Award badge to wear for the week. Eco-Committee News (2021 Spring)

The older members of the Eco-Committee presented an assembly to Phase 3 and 4 today about becoming an Eco School. Year 5 STEM

The children in Year 5 had been curious about how angles worked in the real world.  So they have been investigating angle types and how these are used in engineering. Bringing their maths into a real world setting.

Year 2 & 3 Art – Spring Flowers

The excitement of being back in the Art Room and evidence of spring beginning to emerge all over the school site, has really sparked some fantastic creations amongst the children this week. They have produced some spectacular spring pieces.

Year 3 Kandinsky

Year 3 looked at the artwork of Vasily Kandinsky, particularly the pieces where he expresses his emotions through abstract art. He used colour and shape to respond to feelings and music. The children listened to some music, painting what they saw, felt and heard.

Nursery News

Babies Babies loved dressing up for world book day. We saw some lovely costumes. We have also been involved in choosing vegetables to grow in our pots. Some will stay here at nursery, others we will take home to watch them grow and then we will be able to pick them when they are ready…

World Book Day 2021

Potatoes ruled the day, as online classrooms were taken over with some fabulous potato book characters.  Whilst in Nursery and Pre-Reception there were some very creative costumes.

Year 2 Making Tunnels

In science and technology, Year 2 were challenged to make a tunnel that either they or an object could travel through. They came up with some ingenious structures, of all shapes and sizes, using different types of paper. It was great fun, especially trying them out at the end!
