To consolidate their Global Studies work about Divalli, as part of their Outdoor Learning, the Children in Year 3 were asked to create large Rangoli patterns using where possible natural materials. The children were extremely creative and resourceful using natural materials as well as chalk, paint and other assorted craft materials.

Year 3 had a fantastic combined English and Maths lesson this morning. They weighed and measure ingredients, read and followed instructions and made the most delicious looking fairy cakes or victoria sandwiches. Master-chefs in the making!
In art this week the Year 3 looked at the work of Andy Warhol, they took a virtual tour of the Tate Gallery before looking specifically at prints by Andy Warhol, specifically the very famous ones of Marilyn Monroe. The children created portraits of themselves in the style of Warhol’s Marilyn.
Year 3 were joined by their pets and favourite cuddly toys in Story Time this week. The pets and toys all seemed to enjoy it as much as the children. They also enjoyed another Fun Friday and shared some laughter and jokes.

In Year Three we set the children the challenge of getting outside and doing some exercise in the fresh air. The children have risen fantastically to the challenge and have been on runs, bike rides, long walks and had fun playing in the garden. Well done Year 3 we are very proud of you.
Home learning doesn’t stop us from doing experiments in science. In Art this week Year 3 looked at the work of Henri Matisse, specifically his piece called Icarus. The children created their own pieces of artwork in the style of Matisse’s Icarus using the idea of paper templates and stencilling. I’m sure you will agree they all created stunning masterpieces!
