Funding

• We offer the universal 15 hours of funding (and extended 15 hours funding for those eligible) from 1 year-old. For further details of this funding and the hours it operates please speak with the Nursery Managers at nurserymanager@holmwood.house who will be happy to assist you.
• Please consult the Admissions Policy for funding hours and admissions criteria.
• From January 2026, the Department for Education is introducing new rules regarding how nurseries and preschools must show charges related to consumables (for example, meals, snacks, nappies, and certain materials or activities).
• From January 2026, the morning and afternoon session fees will be shown as two separate items on your invoice:
  1. Cost of Unfunded Hours – covering staffing, extra curricular sessions like PE, Dance, French, 1-1 Learning and Lunch.
  2. Consumables Fee – to cover the cost of meals (except Lunch and morning snack), snacks, formula milk, nappies, wipes and sunscreen provided during funded hours only.
• Charges for consumables will be clearly itemised on your invoice. Parents and carers will have the option to opt out of the consumables charge if they prefer to provide their own items (as listed above). If you wish to opt out, please contact the Nursery Manager
• Please note that opting out means you will need to supply the relevant consumables daily and that some enrichment activities may not be included. Once changed if you do then forget to provide anything that your child requires you will then be charged a day rate plus administration costs.

Other Information

• The above pricing structure forms part of your parental agreement.
• For both Nursery and Preschool there is a minimum number of sessions, which is 2 days a week.
• Invoices are monthly and may vary from month by month depending on attendance.
• The Nursery and Preschool are closed for 5 weeks of the year plus bank holidays (including any additional bank holidays), please see separate holiday closure list.
• The Nursery is open for 47 weeks for Full Year attendance and 38 weeks for Term Time Only attendance. Additional sessions may be added and will be quoted upon request.
• The Preschool is open for 47 weeks for Full Year attendance and 35 weeks for Term Time Only attendance. Additional sessions may be added and will be quoted upon request.
• Fees are not refunded due to absence.
• Full Day includes breakfast, lunch, tea and snacks.
• Nursery School Day includes lunch and snacks.
• Preschool School Day includes, breakfast, lunch and snacks.

• A discount of 5% is offered to those children attending five full days or five school days.

Payment of Fees

Fees are payable monthly in advance on the first day of term. Payment may be made by electronic transfer/internet banking.

• Delays in the payment of fees are punitive to the majority who pay promptly and interest at 2% per month or part thereof will be levied on all unpaid balances.
• The school reserves the right to exclude a pupil until such time as the fees have been paid.

Boarding

Pupils in Years 5-10 can board as follows:

Years 7-10  – Tuesday

Years 5 & 6 – Thursday

The boarding prices include dinner, bed & breakfast, supervised activities and laundry for those boarding on particular nights. Please note that 48 hours’ notice is required if cancelling a boarding night, otherwise you will be charged for that night.

If your child does not regularly stay after 4pm, we can arrange for them to stay as part of the activity program and this is charged accordingly. If your child is due to board, we will automatically assume that they will be staying as part of the activities programme unless you advise us otherwise.

Year 4s will be invited to board on specific evenings throughout the year, but are not able to regularly board.

Deposits & Notice Periods

Please note that, in the event of the place being accepted and then cancelled, in writing, prior to entry, the deposit will be retained by the school. If the place is accepted and then cancelled, in writing, prior to entry with less than a term’s notice, the deposit will be retained by the school and a term’s fees in lieu will be due.

A term’s notice in writing to the Head (headmaster@holmwood.house) is required before the removal of a child; otherwise a term’s fees may be charged in lieu.

Reduced fees are charged for a third child and subsequent children, while they are attending Holmwood House at the same time as their siblings (please request further details from the Registrar).

Payment

Fees are payable termly in advance on the first day of term.  Payment may be made by BACS, Standing Orders or Credit Card*.

Delays in the payment of fees are punitive to the majority who pay promptly. The School reserves the right to charge a late payment administration charge (‘LPAC”) of £25 if an invoice or other  additional charge invoice amount owed to the school is not received on or before the due date.

A further charge of £25 will be levied if the fee remains unpaid for a further four (4) weeks after the parents / billpayer is notified of the first LPAC and every four weeks thereafter that the debt remains unpaid.

For all overdue amounts greater than £500, The School reserves the right to charge interest at the Bank of  England Base Rate +3%. This interest will be calculated on a daily interest basis from the first day the balance was due until the date the debt is paid.

The school reserves the right to exclude a pupil until such time as the fees have been paid.

Learning Support

Individual learning support tuition incurs an extra charge of £28.60 per 30 minute session, there will be a pro rata charge for longer sessions.  Parents will always be consulted before extra tuition is provided.

Music Tuition

Individual music tuition is provided by the peripatetic music teachers who are self-employed and invoice separately for their services.
