Year 4 Global Studies

Posted: 7th December 2020

This week the children have been looking at how the oceans are being changed as a result of the things we do. The children learned about overfishing and climate change but looked particularly at plastic and its impact on animals living in the sea.

They were surprised to learn that we could end up eating plastic due to the fish we eat being part of a food chain who might accidentally eat plastic. We decided to highlight the need to recycle plastic and not throw it away by creating plastic sculptures inspired by animals living in the oceans.

They have then been reflecting on the success of their sculptures and making improvements.
