Dear Parents
This is probably the most unusual newsletter I have had to write. It is with a strange set of emotions that we bid farewell to the children today; into the great unknown…..
The children have been superb! They have responded so maturely, calmly and positively to everything going on around them; we even did a full-scale production of Mary Poppins in the midst of it all! The staff have worked incredibly hard to ensure our Continuity of Education Plan is ready and fit for purpose; albeit that we have never had to deliver this type of teaching before! The school community, at a time where it could have felt fractured and fractious, has indeed felt more solid and together than ever before.
Thank you for your kind emails about our communication and preparations for learning. They were enormously appreciated. I ask that you all bear with us as we enter a new experience for us all. Things will go wrong, I am sure, but with a sense of homogeneous Holmwood resilience, I have every confidence that the education plans we have in place will carry your children through.
Next week is a school week, where learning will be at the very heart of everything the children do. We shall mark the end of term next Friday before entering into the Easter holiday. I will keep you posted about next steps and update you with further information you may require.
Have a good weekend.
Best wishes
Alexander Mitchell
